# Can You Make the Uptown Funk AI Video for Free?

> The honest answer, checked in October 2026: the free and cheap routes for the Uptown Funk AI dance-line video, what a video really costs on each, and when paying makes sense.

Short answer: not as a finished AI video. On 30 October 2026 none of the Uptown Funk AI tools we checked gave a free dance-line video; the closest is a batch of free sign-up credits that covers a quarter of one. Here's what each route costs, MemeFX AI included.

## The routes at a glance

| Route | What's free | What a video costs | Length and frame |
|---|---|---|---|
| Film it yourselves | Everything | Nothing but time | Your call |
| CapCut templates | The template | Free; your photos cut to the sound | Set by the template |
| AI Photo Animator | 75 credits for new accounts | 300 credits; $4.99 buys 540 | 15 s, 16:9, 480p |
| Uptown Funk AI Video | Nothing | 100 credits at 768p; $9.99 buys 100 | 15 s |
| MakeViral | Nothing listed | 126 credits; packs from $13.99 for 150 | 10 s, 9:16, 720p |
| MemeFX AI | Nothing | From $7.99, or 10 to 85 credits | 12 s, 16:9 |

## Film it yourselves

The free route: five friends in a line on a street with shop fronts, the lead in the middle, walking toward a phone held steady at chest height, then a quick close-up and the arm-swinging moves together. Add the Uptown Funk sound from the app's library when you post.

**What it costs you:** five people, a street and a lot of takes to stay in step.

## CapCut templates

Free, but the Uptown Funk ones are remix and lyric edits of your own media, not the dance line. More on that: [Uptown Funk CapCut template vs AI](https://memefxai.com/blog/uptown-funk-capcut-template).

## The AI tools

- **AI Photo Animator** gives new accounts 75 free credits. Its Uptown Funk video costs 300 credits (15 seconds, 16:9, 480p, no watermark), so the free credits cover a quarter of one; the $4.99 starter pack has 540 credits.
- **Uptown Funk AI Video** (uptownfunkaivideo.com) says outright "no free video": a 768p video is 100 credits, 2K HD is 300, and the cheapest pack is $9.99 for 100 credits. It takes one lead photo plus up to four crew photos.
- **MakeViral** makes a 10-second 9:16 version at 720p for 126 credits; the cheapest pack that covers it is $13.99 for 150 credits. Its sound is an original funk groove, not the Uptown Funk song.

## When paying makes sense

- **You want to lead the line without filming:** one photo, the music-video street.
- **You want it in your own clothes:** your outfit carries into every shot.
- **You want to post it as is:** with the sound, no watermark.

When it doesn't: you just want your photos with the sound (use a CapCut template), or you have four friends and an afternoon (film it).
