The wide-angle scream: One person leans into a wide-angle lens, hands clutching their head, mouth wide open, while the other dances in the background. The lens makes the face and hands huge. Then the roles flip: Halfway through, the dancer takes the lens and screams, and the first screamer dances behind. Everyone gets their dramatic close-up. Backyard dance and the lunge: The shot cuts wide: the pair dance side by side, one low-angle shot against the sky, and a final lunge at the camera with both hands reaching out. Set to "Smalltown Boy": The soundtrack is Bronski Beat's 1984 synth-pop hit. Its falsetto and looping synth line are now the countdown to two people screaming into a camera. ## Get a better result from the first upload Sharp, front-facing, nothing on the face: The close-ups put each face a hand's width from the lens. No sunglasses, masks or hands over the face. Hair follows the photo: Each photo's hairstyle is kept, down to length, curl and color — and the hands go right into it during the scream. So does the outfit: Whatever someone wears in the photo, they wear in the video. Photos cut at the waist get regular long trousers. Most dramatic friend in photo 2: Photo 2's close-up is the longest and ends with the big hands-on-face shock, so cast your friends by personality. ## Tips - **Photo 1 · The first scream** Right up in the lens, hands in the hair, mouth wide open, while photo 2 dances behind. - **Photo 2 · The second scream** Roles flip: photo 2 takes the close-up and ends with both hands on the face in shock. - **Side-by-side dance** Both dance in front of the fence, with one low-angle shot against the sky. - **The final lunge** Both rush the camera together, hands reaching for the lens, for one last scream. ## FAQ ### What is the Smalltown Boy AI dance video? An AI version of the two-person Smalltown Boy trend: each person takes a turn screaming into a wide-angle lens with their hands on their head, then the pair dance side by side in a backyard and lunge at the camera together. This template puts the people from your two photos into both roles, keeping the original moves, camera and cuts. ### What song is the Smalltown Boy trend? "Smalltown Boy", the 1984 debut single by the British synth-pop band Bronski Beat, from the album The Age of Consent. MemeFX AI is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Bronski Beat, its members, their labels or the original creators of the trend. ### How many credits does it cost? Smalltown Boy renders on Premium only, as the full ~21-second video: 40 credits at 480p, 80 at 720p and 145 at 1080p, with the song included and no watermark. If a photo isn't approved or the render fails, the credits are refunded automatically. No account needed: you can also buy a single video at checkout from $19.99, refunded automatically if it fails. ### Is the Smalltown Boy AI video free? Not free, but there's no subscription either. Without an account, one video costs from $19.99 at checkout. With an account, a video starts at 40 credits (credit packs from $9.90; credits never expire), and your account's first full 480p video costs just 20 credits. No watermark, and failed renders are refunded automatically. ### Which photos work best? One person per photo, a clear front-facing face and even light, ideally showing the upper body. Use photos of yourself or friends (with their consent); photos of politicians, celebrities or other public figures, and film or MV stills, won't pass review. ### Will my photos be published or shared? No. Your photos and videos are private: we never publish them, show them to other users or use them in our examples or marketing. Only you can see them in your history — a video is only seen by others if you share it yourself. ### Can I make it on my own? The template needs two photos, one for each role. For a solo version, use two different photos of yourself and you'll scream and dance next to your own twin. ### Does the video have sound? Yes. The render itself is silent; the Smalltown Boy track is added in your browser when you play or download it, synced to the picture. ### How long does it take? Photo review usually takes a few seconds to a minute or two, then rendering takes a few minutes. You don't need to keep the tab open — finished clips are saved to My videos. ## Guides - [Can You Make the Smalltown Boy AI Video for Free?](https://memefxai.com/blog/smalltown-boy-ai-free) - [Smalltown Boy CapCut Template vs AI: The Wide-Angle Scream Without the Wide-Angle Lens](https://memefxai.com/blog/smalltown-boy-capcut-template) - [How to Make the Smalltown Boy AI Video: The Wide-Angle Scream Duo](https://memefxai.com/blog/how-to-make-smalltown-boy-ai-video) Facts last checked: 2026-10-29.
