How to Make the It's My Life Dog Video With Your Own Pet
The singing dog in the passenger seat, step by step: where the clip comes from, what happens in the 15 seconds, which pet photo to use and the price. Dogs, cats and other pets.
A split screen: a dashcam highway on top and, below, a German shepherd belted into the passenger seat, belting Bon Jovi's "It's My Life". It whips its head round, stares dead ahead while the song goes on without it, gets a pair of sunglasses from the driver and comes back in on the next line. Here is how to put your own pet in that seat from one photo.

What is the It's My Life dog clip?
A 15-second split-screen clip that went round X in late October 2026; we couldn't find who made it first. The joke is the timing: the dog sings exactly when the song needs it and keeps a straight face in between. The song is the chorus of "It's My Life", the lead single of Bon Jovi's 2000 album Crush. The It's My Life Dog template follows the clip shot for shot with your pet.
How to make it
- Open the It's My Life Dog template.
- Add one photo of your pet: one animal, face clearly visible, ideally head and chest.
- Pick a version and generate. Every version renders the whole 15 seconds.
- Download and post. The MP4 comes with the chorus, lined up with your pet's mouth, or download it silent and pick the sound when you post.
What happens in the video
- The chorus: your pet sings along, mouth wide, head bobbing to the beat.
- The head whip: a sudden turn to face the road, mouth snapping shut.
- The deadpan stare: mouth shut, barely moving, while the song goes on.
- Shades on: the driver's hand reaches in and puts black sunglasses on your pet.
- The last line: sunglasses on, head up, your pet belts the next line.
Pet photos that work best
- Face clearly visible. Eyes, nose and mouth sharp and toward the camera: your pet sings straight at the lens.
- Head and chest. Your pet sits upright in the seat, so a photo that shows both gets its size, fur and markings right.
- Good light. Daylight or a bright room; dark photos blur black fur and faces.
- One animal. Two pets, or a person holding the pet, make it unclear who takes the seat.
