How to Make the Closer Dance AI Video From Two Photos

The Ne-Yo Closer dance meme step by step: which two photos to use and in which order, what happens in the 15 seconds, the song and the price.

A tree-lined park path, one person slowly pulling down their sunglasses, the other sprinting in from far away, and then a fast, dead-serious face-off to Ne-Yo's "Closer". That is the Closer dance, captioned "I just can't stop". Here is how to put you and a friend in the original reel from two photos, without learning a step.

What is the Closer dance?

It is a TikTok routine to Ne-Yo's 2008 single "Closer": one person waits and pulls down their sunglasses, the other sprints in, and the two do a fast, jerky face-off, then dance side by side. The song's line "I just can't stop" became the caption of the trend.

It comes from the Australian creator group Gnome Boys. On 10 March 2022 they posted "We just can't stop" on a park path (14.9 million views), did it again in 2023 ("we still can't stop", 15 million views) and in April 2026 ("who's gonna stop us", 12.5 million). The April 2026 reel turned it into a challenge: friends, couples, cosplayers and sports teams posted covers that credit them. The Closer Dance template puts you and a friend into the original reel, shot for shot, with your own faces and clothes.

How to make it

  1. Open the Closer Dance template.
  2. Add photo 1: the one with the sunglasses, who waits on the path and pulls them down.
  3. Add photo 2: the one who runs in, raises a hand and grabs the other's jaw.
  4. Pick a version and generate. Every version renders the whole 15-second clip.
  5. Download and post. The MP4 comes with "Closer"; caption it "I just can't stop" and tag your partner.

What happens in the video

  • 0–3 s, the pull-down: photo 1 waits on the tree-lined path and slowly pulls down the sunglasses.
  • 3–6 s, the sprint: photo 2 sprints in from far down the path.
  • 6–11 s, the face-off: a fast, jerky, dead-serious face-off; one grabs the other's jaw.
  • 11–15 s, side by side: both of you dance side by side to the chorus.

Who plays which part?

Photo 1 waits and pulls down the sunglasses; photo 2 sprints in and grabs the jaw. Both of you dance the face-off. Swap the photos before you generate to swap the roles. You keep your own faces and the clothes from your photos.

Photos that work best

  • Head to knees. The reel has close-ups and full-body shots, so a head-to-knees photo works best.
  • No sunglasses in the photo. The video brings its own pair; your face should be fully visible.
  • One person per photo, sharp, in good light.
  • Ask first. Use your own photo and one of an adult who said yes; never a stranger or a public figure.

What does it cost?

Balanced is 15 credits at 480p and 25 at 720p. Premium is 30 credits at 480p, 60 at 720p and 105 at 1080p. Without an account, one video starts at $7.99. No watermark, and failed renders are refunded automatically. The photos you upload are deleted 30 days after the video is made.
